Hearts & Hooves Canada Level I Workshop Hearts & Hooves Canada’s Level I Workshop on Equine Guided Programs (EGP) with miniature horses has been developed to guide others in establishing their own Mini Equine Programs.
This tuition-based workshop will give participants guidelines on how to start their own program with Mini Equine Activities and Assisted Therapy Programs; we will explore the uniqueness of working with mini horses in the benefit of helping people of all ages in our community. We will emphasis the need for proper care, advocating for and respecting your miniature horses. We will look at how to work with clients requesting equine therapy, how best to operate your individual programs, and much, much more!
The Level I Workshop on Equine Guided Activities and Assisted Therapy Programs entails 3.5 intensive days of hands-on training, working with Hearts & Hooves Canadian Founder, our volunteers, Vets, Bookkeepers, people we visit, and our minis. We will look at how we work in part as a rescue organization; we can visit a local Veterinary Hospital and discuss unique concerns and traits of proper mini horse care and maintenance. Together we will look at how to find and recognize mini horses that want to be therapy animals.
We will breakdown our training process, as well as how we work with each horse through respect and cooperation. We will sit with our Volunteer Coordinator, and look at how to develop and maintain a Volunteer Program. We will discuss the legalities, liabilities, the special insurances, and safety measures we have developed and recommend. We will work together and individually to resource how you wish to set up your Mini Equine Guided Activities and Assisted Therapy Programs; possible places with in your community to visit, how to set up visits, and we will go on some visits within our community.
Each workshop is designed to fit the individual needs of the people wishing to develop a program, as such we focus and design the agenda based upon your vision. Over the 3.5 days you are here at Hearts & Hooves you will explore what aspects of Equine Guided Activities and Assisted Therapy initiatives you wish to develop within your community and with whom you wish to visit.
Hearts & Hooves does offer private and customized Level 1 training for those who wish to bring their own horses and who would like to work independently towards their goals.
Accommodation choices can be provided for you, this cost is not covered in your tuition. Depending on the size of the particular group here for the workshop we may suggest that one or more of you rent a vehicle to commute.
Hearts & Hooves Level I Workshop on Equine Guided Activities and Assisted Therapy Programs is provided to those who share common goals. If you are interested in attending we ask that you contact us to fill out an application form.
