Volunteer Opportunies
Hearts & Hooves likes to engage our volunteers to particpate in all aspects of the charity. Much work is done behind the scenes to make visits possible. We are looking for motivated indivduals 13 years and older who wish to be part of giving back to these little horses and to the community as a whole.
Volunteers are welcomed to join in bath nights, farm chores, fundraising events and planning, being horse handlers on visits, and adding to Hearts & Hooves in a unquie and special way.
Qualities we look for in Volunteers who wish to assist on visits with the horses and work with them at the farm.
- A desire to spend time with the horses
- We like to have volunteers spend as much time as possible getting to know the little guys here at the farm before asking them to the big city and bright lights. So we ask for volunteers who are willing and wanting of giving time to spend getting to know the horses as indivduals.
- Comfortable in large groups of people
- Enjoy visiting and talking with new people all the time
- Work in the benefit of the horses you are handling and the people you are visiting.
- Follow instructions and safety procedures as learned with Hearts & Hooves
- Be reliable
- Be able to crouch down sometimes for long periods of time while visiting with people and holding a horse
- Not be afraid of horse Manure..HA!! No really it happens alot around here.
